Barb: Back to school-bookmark

This Back School Bookmark was made for a very special teacher. I hope that she will enjoy it throughout the school year. ( I blocked our the teacher's last name for privacy)I used a template to cut and score the cardstock.  I then embellished with a digital stamp.
Recipe: DP and cardstock is from JoAnn Fabrics,Image is a free digital image from Elizabeth O. Dulemba, Punch is a Martha Stewart punch , I colored the image with prisma pencils and copic markers.

Barb: Handmade Flowers

This is my first card post as a Posse for Cowgirl Up Designs. The challenge this week is: handmade flowers.

This card highlights the new image:TipToe Fairy from the cowgirl up digital stamps. I used several layers in this card as well as on the fairy to add some dimension. The flowers were made using using ribbon, gathering it then adding a button.  I added some glitz with the gelly roll glitter pen (my favorite card making tool!)

Barb: Celebrate-the simple things

I wanted to make an easel card but had forgotten how small an area there is to place and image and sentiment. So..I was puzzled. I also wanted to use some fall colors rather than the summer and spring colors I had been using for quite awhile. Anyhow...I finally put it together!

Barb: Life's a Beach

Summer is almost over...I am so sad. I love the warmth and freedom that summer brings, the non-structured days, the cook-outs, and especially being able to spend time with my family. Soon school will start and everyone will be busy again. I love this digital image, it is silly enough to make you giggle!

I embossed and debossed the Cardstock/colored the image with prisma pencils then blended with mineral spirits. I also swiped the image on the edges.

I love summer and all of its beauty. We have had hot and not so humid weather this week..just perfect. It makes me appreciate the beauty of the season and how lucky I am. I love the way this card turned out. I do best when following a sketch and that was what I started with.

Barb: Z fold card

While creating this card, I used a technique that was new to me. First, this card is a Z fold card. Not nearly as difficult as it sounds. This time I added chipboard. I stamped the butterfly on the white cardstock. Then I stamped part of it on a round chipboard. I added some glitter to the hearts on her wing, swiped the edges of the clipboard then positioned it on the butterfly. It adds some dimension. I hope that you can see this in the picture.

I love sunflowers! To me they express summer in all its glory. This was a fun card to design especially using the acetate.

             Technique: This is quite a simple card. I did highlight some of the flowers and leaves with glitter to add dimension. I traced the heart sentiment with a jelly roll pen to add some shine. I "gathered" the ribbon using staples then added a little bling.

Barb: Black and White

If you are following my blog, you will see that I love bright colors but I also enjoy the challenge using just black and white. I feel that one can appreciate the image when it is stamped in black on a white cardstock. Of course I usually add some bling, ribbon and of course the jelly roll pen.
